Start with the qualification
Write down the exact medical qualification you are considering. “MBBS in Russia” is the familiar search term for many Indian families; official university pages may describe a Specialist programme in General Medicine. Use the official course name when asking about admission, language, training and fees.
Next, compare the teaching plan. Look at when basic sciences, clinical subjects, simulation and supervised patient contact appear. A hospital partnership is useful context, but it does not describe an individual student’s access, responsibilities or supervision. Ask for those details.
Make a comparison you can use
- Academic fit: entry criteria, entrance tests, teaching language and course structure.
- Practical training: clinical sites, supervision, assessment and internship arrangements.
- Professional pathway: the requirements for registration in your intended country of practice.
- Living fit: hostel location, sharing arrangements, food, commute and climate.
- Financial fit: the complete course budget and the terms governing future fee changes.
- Support: university contacts and the specific help EduRussia can provide at that institution.
Ask for evidence, not a label
A university’s history, ranking or appearance in a directory may tell you something about the institution. It does not replace a check of your particular programme and professional pathway. Save admission notices, course handbooks and dated correspondence. Compare the same intake and programme across universities. If two sources disagree, ask the institution to reconcile them in writing before treating either as definitive.
Keep the shortlist personal
A large capital-city university and a university in a smaller regional city can offer very different everyday experiences. Neither is automatically the better fit. Your comfort with travel, independence, language learning and the total cost should shape the decision alongside academics.
